Less Time.

Less Money.

All of The Development!

What is the goal of the Renegades Baseball Club?

The Renegades Baseball Club was established in 2023 with one simple goal: to provide an inclusive, low-cost, development-focused alternative to the traditional travel baseball model. We have aimed to do that by creating an encouraging, positive environment in which kids of all skill levels are able to build skills, grow their confidence, and have fun playing the game of baseball. And it’s worked! In two short years, many of our players have simply outgrown the “Rec-Plus” framework our program was initially established under.

Are kids still required to participate in Rec baseball to play on the Renegades?

No, Renegades players are no longer required to play Rec. However, we do still recommend it for many players at the younger ages, and have designed the schedule to allow space during the season for players to still participate in their local Rec league.

What sets Renegades Travel Light apart from Traditional Travel?

In short: less time commitment, less cost, all of the development! As a program, we are first and foremost focused on the long-term development of your player, which in turn will lead to more confidence and ultimately greater success on the field. Tournament play, as fun and beneficial as it can be, does not provide a ton of opportunity for youth players to further develop their skills. By participating in a Sunday Showcase double-header league and prioritizing local scrimmages over all weekend tournaments, families are able to enjoy more time away from baseball during the season. And the money saved on registration costs, gate fees, hotels, gas, and food can be used to tap into our specialized training options, which is where the real development happens anyway!

Will there be a tryout/evaluation process?

Yes, we will have a two-day tryout/evaluation process to help us assess your players' skill level and determine where their most appropriate level of competition – this will take place after registration closes in mid-August.

For 8U-12U we are a "no-cut" program -- following evaluations, all players will be offered a spot on a team with kids of similar skill levels. In some cases, players may be placed on a "development" track to get them more prepared for the next level of competiton.

For 13U, we will be having a formal tryout process that will include cuts, if necessary.
